Mixed Daal

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup toor dal
  • ¼ cup urad dal
  • ¼ cup moong dal
  • ¼ cup masoor dal
  • ¼ cup chana dal
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 bay leaf
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 dried red chilli
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tomato, finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi, crushed
  • 2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Soak all the dals together for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Add all dals, turmeric, bay leaves to a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water.
  3. Cook for 12 minutes.
  4. In a pan, heat oil and add cloves, black cardamom, cumin, dried red chilli.
  5. When they splutter, add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  6. Add ginger garlic paste and green chilli, sauté for 2 minutes.
  7. Add coriander powder and salt, sauté for a minute.
  8. Add tomatoes and cook until oil separates.
  9. Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well.
  10. Add garam masala and kasuri methi, mix well.
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

Notes

Since it does not have preservatives, keep it in refrigerator. Made for bread machine.
